September is Moth and Butterfly month at TPM. This program, geared for 4-6 year olds, compares moths and butterflies. How are they they same, how are they different. We discuss body parts, and engage the children's imagination through stories, projects, songs, and live critters. We learn how to tell a boy monarch from a girl monarch, and on days that the weather cooperates (sunny and above 70 degrees), we release a Monarch Butterfly.
Teachers are encouraged to register early for this fun experience. The program is approximately 1 hour long, and can be scheduled for anytime during the September.
There is a nominal fee for each student; adults are free. Each child creates a metamorphsis project, chooses a moth or butterfly hat, and receives a gift bag filled with lots of butterfly related goodies.
Due the generous support from our local business community, transportation is reimbursed for public school children. Please ask for details.
